Oct 17th 2005
Technology Ventures Corporation (TVC), a no-cost, non-profit technology commercialization and entrepreneurial assistance organization, hosts its annual Equity Capital Symposium (ECS) in Albuquerque every May. During the event, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to present their business case to an audience of investors. Each selected ECS presenter is assigned a volunteer advisory group of seasoned business professionals from the community. The advisors remain with the presenter through the symposium and provide crucial assistance with preparation of the business plan, presentation, elevator pitch and much more. This event is open to all technology entrepreneurs with emphasis on those with connections to a national laboratory. Business plans will be accepted for inclusion in ECS through January 2006.

At Innovators’ Forum, three successful entrepreneurs, all of whom have participated in the Equity Capital Symposium, will share their experiences preparing for and presenting at ECS. The participants are:

Molly Cernicek, LANL employee and now VP of Marketing and Business Development for Volius, a Los Alamos based fiber laser manufacturer for the materials processing industry
Ben Warner, founder of Caldera Pharmaceuticals, a recently funded biotechnology company based on a technology Warner developed while at LANL
Jim McDonald, President of Doxcelerate, a Los Alamos based company that provides complex policy and procedure automation solutions

Preparing for any presentation to the investment community takes a lot of work and dedication. This entrepreneurial panel will provide insight into how to approach and present to the investment community, how to develop your business plan and how to leverage the resources available to New Mexico entrepreneurs.
