Hue Walker
Hue Walker is a founding member and senior artist with ARTS Lab at the University of New Mexico. In that role she has participated in the production, design and realization of multiple projects for web, print, and a variety of media platforms including fulldome. She has worked on these projects with visiting artists, students, faculty and community members. She mentors media and visualization students from multiple disciplines throughout UNM,supports faculty and students with media related projects, performances and research. , and answers inquiries on fulldome production techniques and considerations.

- Designed and taught the world’s first university-based fulldome production course
- Supported multiple class projects at UNM from 2001 through the present
- Serves as advisor to faculty interested in incorporating fulldome into classwork and research
- Provides international support for artists, film makers, educators and students interested in learning about fulldome, including:
- Visiting lecturer at Ringling School of Design, Cosmix2010 fulldome festival, Sarasota FL
- Visiting lecturer and juror at Redstick Animation Festival in Baton Rouge LA
- Visitng lecturer and projecy advisor for the Australian Network for Art & Technology’s (ANAT) Dome Lab 2010 fulldome experimental workshop in Perth AU.
- Participated in every instance of DomeFest as independent artist (winner of the “Best Art Piece Domie Award” in 2005 and “Best of Fest Domie Award” in 2007 for “Our Turn” with Mitch Rayes,) as well as serving in different years as staff artist, jurist, tech advisor, editor, titleist, print designer, and domie designer among others.
- Presented fulldome material at SIGGRAPH’s educator’s conference, video art venue, participated in a SIGGRAPH panel on the ethics of digital site scanning, and served on SIGGRAPH’s animation festival jury.
- Frequent juror for city youth projects including Mayor’s City Arts, Focus on Youth, and Albq. Academy International Arts Conference.
Multimedia Development Specialist
BFA, U.N.M. 1971, with Honors. Lifelong Albuquerque artist, co-owner Birdsong Used Books 1976-1997, author of “Journeys Through Inner Space,” Pomegranate Art Books, 1996. UNM animation instructor, specializing in full dome research and production for UNM (ATC, DPP, ARTS Lab) 1997 to present.
