Motion Capture Workshop

ARTS Lab is pleased to invite University faculty to participate in a
Motion Capture workshop to be held at the ARTS Lab Garage. This workshop will cover the hardware and software of the Vicon optical motion capture system. We are excited about sharing this new area for
creative experimentation with faculty and look forward to cultivating
innovative faculty research in this field.
We will start with a twenty minute overview of the technology and history. We will also present information on the process of getting ARTS Lab support, what steps are required for various levels of involvement with ARTS Lab, and how to get your project in the pipeline.
The workshop will also include an hour long hands-on component in which
participants calibrate the system and capture various types of motion. This workshop will provide an opportunity to experience a quick overview of the pipeline involved in motion capture work, and to begin to understand options for using the data.
