Here at ARTSLab we were ecstatic to be able to help UNM Sculpture faculty member and local artist Welly Fletcher complete one of her new sculptures for her solo show SLANT at Richard Levy Gallery in downtown Albuquerque.

The process started with a hand-built clay maquette. Fletcher 3D scanned that initial clay sculpture, with assistance from UNM MFA student Nancy Dewhurst, using ARTSLab’s Artec Leo 3D Scanner. The digital model was then scaled up and printed on the Big Rep One 3D Printer. Fletcher finished the sculpture with a custom steel armature.

Well gives a thumbs up with the finished piece
