📆 Friday Nov 7, 11am
📍ARTSLab 131 Pine St NE

This roundtable brings together four researchers working at the intersection of art, science, and technology: Zhu Wang (Assistant Professor, Computer Science), Jennifer A. Rudgers (Distinguished Professor, Biology, and Director of the Sevilleta Long Term Ecological Research Program), Rambod Vala (Assistant Professor, Graphic Design), and Jason Moore (Associate Professor and Chair, Honors College). Each will share a ten-minute presentation on their practice and approach to collaboration. Moderated by Stewart Skylar Copeland, Director of ARTSLab, the discussion will explore how to build effective interdisciplinary partnerships, the challenges and rewards of working across disciplines, and the transformative potential of collaborative research. Attendees are encouraged to join the conversation, share ideas, and identify opportunities for cross-campus collaboration.

CITH Workshop: Moon in My Room Presenter: Adrian CITH Workshop: Moon in My Room
Presenter: Adrian Pijoan

CITH continues its workshop series with artist Adrian Pijoan covering the fundamentals of designing 3D assets for AR.

Students will learn how to work with PBR materials in Blender and then how to export a 3D asset from Blender for use in Unity. Using this asset, they will then create a small AR application for Android in Unity 6 that will allow them to place the moon in their room.

CITH Workshop: Deploying the Unity Open XR Demo Sc CITH Workshop: Deploying the Unity Open XR Demo Scene to the HTC Vive Focus Presenter: Ella Pigg

CITH kicks off its workshop series with artist and ARTSLab Graduate assistant Ella Pigg.

In this inaugural workshop, Ella walks us through the basic mechanics of the HTC VIVE Focus Vision headset, controllers, and hand tracking. We build and deploy the VIVE Open XR Sample Scene from Unity to the headset and cover optimal project and build settings, package management for building XR applications to the Focus Vision headset, as well as basic editing for the application scene.
