Sugarcane Army 甘蔗軍 (2025) is inspired by an anti-colonial armed uprising in 1915, when Taiwanese rebel peasant farmers were led by a spirit medium named Yü Ch’ing-fang 余清芳. Armed with primitive weapons, they faced a modern army with guns and cannons. The film run time is 20 minutes.
